Lyndell Gray Purdy

Funeral services for Mr. Lyndell Gray Purdy, 78, of the Edhube Community, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Bois D'Arc Creek Cowboy Church 3301 S. State Hwy 121 Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Smith and Gary Purdy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Edhube. Lyndell passed away Saturday evening, July 23, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Lyndell was born December 23, 1932 in the Edhube Community, Texas, the son of Russell Reid Purdy and Rena Mae Womack. He was a graduate of Bonham High School and on August 17, 1953 he married Elease Dewoody in Bonham. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Fannin Bank where he held numerous positions including President of the bank. His civic duties included past president of Bonham Independent School Board, Mounted Sheriff's Posse, and the Jaycees. He also enjoyed the animals out at Milton's Place Zoo in Edhube.
He is survived by:

Daughters: Debbie Clayton and husband, Ron of Edhube
Dee Kinkade and husband, Danny of Bells
Son: Milton Gray Purdy of Edhube
Brother: Gary and wife, Judy Purdy of Edhube
Sisters: Ruby Nell Lane and husband, Alvin of Bonham
Doris Elaine Rogers and husband, Larry of Henderson
Grandchildren: Lana Newton, Brandon Chaney, Roni Hartline, Kristina Reeves and Jon Kinkade.
8 Great grandchildren: Eli Newton, Jalen Hartline, Makena Hartline, Easton Hartline, Blake Reeves, Blaze Kinkade, Addyson Chaney and Kennedy Chaney
Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends

Pallbearers will be Stephen Newton, Brandon Chaney, Justin Reeves, Jake Hartline, John Cole Dudley, and Jon Kinkade.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roosevelt Ross, George Moody, Jerry Powell, and Brian Peeler.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2011.
