Funeral services for Mrs. Lyda Atnip Nichols, age 85, a lifelong resident of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 11, 2011 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gene Owen and Rev. Claude Robbins will officiate. Burial will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery. Lyda passed away early Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in Bonham.
Lyda was born September 13, 1925 in Silura, Alabama, the daughter of Lonnie E. Atnip and Eloise Reid. She was a graduate of Bonham High School. Lyda married Weldon Nichols, June 1, 1946. She worked as a Secretary for Bradford Watson INIS and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles, Raymond and L.C. Atnip.

Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Nichols, Joe Powell, Ronnie Nutt, Randy Warnell, William Collins and Ray Atnip. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Woods, Charles Atnip, John Atnip and John Collins.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.
