Loyd Edward Robertson

Funeral services for Loyd Robertson, 77, of Bonham, formerly of Ivanhoe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Bois d'Arc Creek Cowboy Church, 3301 State Hwy 121, Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Upchurch, Rev. Mickey Lyles and Rev. Kevin Lane will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas. Loyd passed away Monday night, March 30, 2015 at his residence.
Loyd was born Oct. 14, 1937 in the Lamasco Community of Fannin County, Texas. The son of Edward Eugene Robertson and Lillie Roberts Robertson. From the age of three months, he was raised by Leeman and Florence Spykes Robertson. He attended school in Telephone and was a graduate of Honey Grove High School. Loyd served in the US National Guard 1960-1961. He was a self employed dairy cattleman and enjoyed coon hunting and watching Sam Rayburn ISD ballgames. Loyd's greatest love was singing. He sang for over 500 funerals, weddings and graduations. For the past 40 years, he sang at Seven Oaks Nursing Home, the Bonham SNAP Center and Senior Centers. Loyd was a member of the Telephone Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Robertson and Leeman Robertson; six sisters, Mary Ann Ingram, Clive Jo Atkins, Oma Jewel Delashaw, Daisey Whittenberg, Berniece Robertson and Marion Durham.
Loyd is survived by his twin brother, Floyd Robertson of Bonham, Texas; nephews, Lewie Robertson, Dennis Robertson, and Len Robertson, all of Ivanhoe, Texas, Eldon Van Hooser of Amarillo, Texas and Jack Morris; nieces, Margaret Yates, Rhonda Hughes and Dania Binion, all of Bonham, Texas, Lisa Bennett of Gainesville, Texas and Wendy Hodnett of Aubrey, Texas; friend, Johnny Shelley of Bonham, Texas; several great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Yates, Gary Hughes, Lewie Robertson, Dennis Robertson, Eldon Van Hooser, and Tim Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Len Robertson, Gerald Wishard, Junior Wilkerson, Jerry Throneberry, Jake Throneberry, and Jesse Throneberry.
