Funeral Services for Louise Yoast Wallace, 90, a lifelong resident of Bonham will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13 at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Gene Owens will officiate. Burial will follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Louise passed away on August 7, 2015 at Park Manor in Mckinney. Louise had been a resident of the Woodmoore Assisted Living in Bonham the last four years.
Louise was born on August 2, 1925, in Bailey, Texas, the daughter of Cornelious Edward Yoast and Mae Crownover Yoast. She attended school at Three P and graduated from Bailey High School in 1942 where she played basketball. On December 1, 1945 Bernice married Charles G. Wallace in Durant, Oklahoma. She was the loving mother of daughter Margaret, and son, Charles Edward. The most important things in her life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Louise was a Nursing Assistant for Allen Memorial Hospital for many years and for Northeast Medical Center for two years. She had a huge heart for volunteer work. She started out at the VA hospital in the Time Out Program caring for Alzheimer's patients in addition to being a member of the DAVA and VFW Auxiliary for many years. She was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for many years. She enjoyed her time at the Woodmore with all the parties, bingo and making lots of new friends. Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham and enjoyed her Sunday school class and friends before failing heath caused her to limited attendance. Louise is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles, in 1992, Sister Mary Ann Bush and great granddaughter Bailee McNear.
She leaves behind son, Charles Edward Wallace (Linda) of Euless, Texas; daughter, Margaret McNear (Stan) of Point, Texas; sister, Betty Jean Owens (Max) of Tom Bean, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa Woodbridge, Clint McNear, Garrett Wallace (Valerie), and Clay Wallace; great grandchildren, Morgan, Mason and Blaine Woodbridge, Grant and Brock McNear, and Maison and Kaya Bartlow; and Numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Bush, Brandon Bush, Colton Whisenhunt, Jimmy Dixon, Doug Owens, and Don Owens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warriors Program.
Visitation will be Wednesday night, August 12, from 6-8 p.m.
