Louise Baker

Graveside services for Helen Louise Ware Baker, 95, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Fannin County will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 in Lamasco Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Jackson will officiate.  Louise passed away Tuesday night, Nov. 2, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas.

Louise was born Feb. 4, 1926 in the Lamasco Community of Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of Loyd Bert Ware and Velma Alice Harris Ware.  She attended the Lamasco Schools until the 10 ^th grade and then spent her Jr and Sr years in Bonham High School, graduating in 1943. Following graduation, she attended Draughn's Business School in Dallas.   Louise married the love of her life, John Wesley Baker, on Feb. 11, 1948 in Howe, Texas, and he preceded her in death May 8, 2007.  She worked for the telephone company in Sherman, Texas prior to moving to Garland in 1955.  Louise spent some time in the retail market, working for J. C. Penney's for a number of years.  A true people person, Louise found her niche as a front desk clerk for Days Inn and Valley View Inn. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman and attended Second Baptist Church in Garland for many years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker, bowling, and playing Canasta and dominoes.  She also loved to travel and treasured every moment with her grandchildren.  Louise was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Amber Baker.

Louise leaves cherished memories for her son, Ronald Baker and his wife, Pam of Irving, TX and granddaughter, Kelly Gray and her husband, Andrew of Bedford, TX; 4 great grandchildren, Aubrey Gray, Cohen Gray, Porter Gray and Milo Gray; and extended family and friends.

A soft spoken, kind lady, who was the best mother and grandmother, Louise will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
