Funeral services for Dora Lorene Lawrence, 84, of Wills Point, formerly of Fannin County, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Matt Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery. Lorene passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 31, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall.
Lorene was born April 20, 1930 in Bailey, Texas, the daughter of William Claude Russell and Myrtle Lorene Crownover Russell. She was a graduate of Bailey High School. Lorene married Charles Glenwood Lawrence on July 2, 1948 in Rockwall, Texas. He preceded her in death April 3, 2003. Lorene was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Wills Point, Texas. She loved reading and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark Lawrence.
Lorene is survived by 2 Sons, Danny Lawrence and wife, Lynda of Terrell, Texas and Mike Lawrence of Seagoville, Texas; 2 Brothers, Bobby Russell of McKinney, Texas and Steve Russell and wife, Pam of Bonham, Texas; 1 Sister, Claudette Carlile and husband, Craig of Bonham, Texas; 4 Grandchildren, Jeff Lawrence, Brandon Lawrence, Jena Lawrence and Cassidy Ann Lawrence; 6 Great Grandchildren, Gracie Lawrence, Audrey Lawrence, Brody Lawrence, Gage Vercruysse, Lauren Vercruysse and Chloe Vercruysse; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Smith, Todd Russell, Craig Carlile, Brandon Lawrence and Jeff Lawrence.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until service time, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015
