Linda Joyce Melton

Memorial services for Mrs. Linda Joyce Leeds Melton, age 78, of Leonard, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2022, in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel.   Rev. Mike Burt will officiate.  Mrs. Melton passed away on October 1, 2022, at the Mullican Care Center in Savoy

Linda was born on June 20, 1944, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, the daughter of Timothy Houston Leeds and Theda Helene Hill Leeds.  She married Bob Melton on July 9, 1976, in Jacksonville, Arkansas and was of the Baptist faith. She worked at the Timex Company in Arkansas and later for Texas Tag in Wolfe City and Leonard Nursing Home for a number of years. Linda was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles and was a sports fanatic while enjoying the Dallas Cowboys and the Arkansas Razorbacks.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, J.T., Vick, James, Sis "Emily", and Mary Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Melton of Leonard, sons, Paul Wayne and Amy Michelle Melton of Farmersville, Timothy Allan and Sheri Melton of Bells, Mark J. Melton of Leonard, and Shawn Oddis and Rhonda Melton of Oklahoma, daughter, Sherry Harper and husband Al of Little Rock, Arkansas,  brothers, Joe, Van, Robert and Charles Roberson, sisters, Doris Gull, Lois Dereuisseaux and Ruth Whitley, grandchildren, Breonna Newton, Byran Melton, Braxton Melton, Rachel and husband Dakota Melton, Devon Melton, Alyssa Melton, Charlie Covington, Cody Cochran and Amanda Covington,  Iesha Porchay and husband Jalyn, Kiarah Abdullah and husband Tyler Butler, Kamryn Abdullah and wife Mya, great grandchildren, Levi Paxton,  Arabella Paxton, Kenz'lei Paxton, Sophia Butler, Noveah Abdullah, and Karter Porchay.
