IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Kay
Lewis
May 11, 1945 – January 17, 2026
Linda Kay Lewis, 80, of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. Arrangements were made with care by Wise Funeral Home out of Bonham, Texas.
Linda was born May 11, 1945, in Yakama, Washington to Mary and Devo Cowdrey. A crafty woman by nature, she lived by the motto, "It will all come out in the wash," a true testament to her go with the flow demeanor.
A woman of many talents, Linda was known far and wide for her sewing ability. She was so good in fact that she won first place in the Texas State Fair for her crochet quilt, an achievement her family could not possibly be prouder of her for. This skill was honed during her work for Levi Strauss from the early to mid 60's where she was a force to be reckoned with. She was so good in fact that she was known to be able to whip up a curtain in 5 minutes flat. Outside of a professional setting, she enjoyed making quilts and blankets for her children which she loved dearly.
Cooking is a work of art to some, and similar to sewing, Linda loved to cook. Whether it was just for her husband or for the children and grandchildren, she always used cooking as a way to bring the family together for some good old-fashioned quality time. Similarly, she loved canning. True to form, the process brought her joy, and the effort it took to make the goods shelf-stable always left her with a sense of pride in a job well done. Tomatoes, peaches, okra or anything else for that matter, you name it, she could can it.
She is survived by her loving children: Cynthia A Monds, Sandi K McClure, and Kathleen D Lewis. Along with the listed children include her wonderful grandchildren: Eric R Monds, Jennifer K Monds, Valerie A Monds, Samantha J Reed, Caleb D McClure, Katie L Reed, Danielle K Dutton, Jolie S Lewis, Shawn McClure, Kaylinn Dutton, and Jordan L Lewis.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey D Lewis; her son Joe L Lewis; and her parents, Mary and Devo Cowdrey.
Linda will be buried next to her loving husband and son, in a natural style burial as requested at Carson Cemetery on Thursday January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
