Lilly was born June 9, 1928 in the Tulip Community of Fannin County, daughter of William Moore Sinor and Mary Frances Moore Sinor. She attended school in Yarnaby, Oklahoma and the Duncan school in Bonham, Texas. Lilly met and married the love of her life, Max Newton in 1947 in Bonham and they raised their three children. Lilly worked briefly outside the home sewing and inspecting military uniforms. She loved kids, assisting both in Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scout groups. She started sewing for the public specializing in wedding dresses. She also made vintage dresses fashioned after the movie, "Titanic" and for the Bonham High School award winning One Act Plays, and many organizations that required uniforms. Lilly was an avid fisherman and you could often see she and Max down around the 3rd Lake Bonham bridge or out at Bonham State Park. They started their mornings with a cup of coffee and a competitive game of Canasta. She loved to play Canasta, Rummy and Casino and practice her sneaky skills, like the "Nanny Swoope".
