Funeral services for Laura Mae Knight "Granny Mae", 90, of the Lannius Community of Fannin County, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2013 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Robert Bailey, Bro. Roy Burpo and Dr. Jackie Bridges will officiate. Burial will follow in Dodd City Cemetery. Mae passed away Monday night, April 22, 2013 at her residence.

Mae was born August 3, 1922 in Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of William Garland "Bob" Bridges and Laura Tabatha McCormack Bridges. She attended the Lannius Schools. Mae married Noel Douglas Knight on Sept. 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2008. Mae was a longtime faithful member of Lannius Church of God. She was a Sunday School teacher, involved with bake sales and fundraisers, sang in the church quartet and served on numerous other church committees. She enjoyed gardening and yard work and loved cooking for her family and friends. A true Christian lady, Mae loved helping others. She was the manager of the Bonham SNAP Center for 20 plus years and was a member of the Friends of the Bonham SNAP Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Danny Kay Knight (1992), 3 brothers, Claude Bridges, Cecil Bridges, and Clifford Bridges and 3 sisters, Irene Paulk, Lanora Belle Knight and Ella Martin.

Mae is survived by her daughter, Pamela Gay Wilson and husband, Robert of the Lannius Community,
daughter-in-law, Louise Knight of Windom, TX, brother, Dr. Jackie Bridges and wife, Claudine of Youngstown, OH, 5 grandchildren, Ken Knight and wife, Sally, Todd Knight, Kortney Ozment and husband, Dale, Hollie Nelson and husband, William, and Ashley Wilson, great grandchildren, Zach Knight and wife, Laura, Dani Ozment, Kane Ozment, Dusti Ozment, Christian Knight and Justin Lay.

Pallbearers will be Ken Knight, Todd Knight, William Nelson, Dale Ozment, Zach Knight and Kane Ozment. Honorary pallbearers will be Kortney Ozment, Hollie Nelson, Ashley Wilson, Dani Ozment and Dusti Ozment.

Memorials may be made to the Lannius Church of God or the Bonham SNAP Center.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday night.
