A memorial service for Larry D. Wilson, 79, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bonham, Texas. Larry passed away Wednesday night, February 10, 2021 at TMC-Bonham Hospital.
Larry was born July 29, 1941 in Fresno, California, the son of Afton Wilson and Lola Sims Wilson. He attended high school in Selma, California and continued his education at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, Stanford University, Palo Alto, California and DeAnza College in Cupertino, California where he received his engineering degree. Larry married Barbara J. Nelson on Sept. 5, 1964 in Los Gatos, California. He served his country in the United States Navy. Larry was an engineer and retired from Hewlett Packard. After moving to Bonham, he was involved with a number of community activities including the Crisis Center, the Food Pantry and CASA and the Habitat for Humanity. Larry was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee and worked with PCOLT Presbyterian Camp On Lake Texoma. He enjoyed working with tools and taking care of his 24 acres. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Wilson.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 56 years, Barbara Wilson of Bonham, TX; son, Mike Wilson and his wife, Robin of Lumberton, TX; twin brother, Gary Wilson and his wife, Lynn of Fresno, CA; sister, Delores Burruss of Selma, CA; and grandchildren, Lexe Wilson of Odessa, TX and Cole Wilson of Lumberton, TX.
