Kenneth Robert (Ken) Pittman

Graveside services for Ken Pittman, age 95 of Arlington, TX will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, TX, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ricky Robbins. Ken passed away on August 22, 2018. He was born January 2, 1923 in Yuba, Oklahoma to Robert Buford Pittman & Rita Pate Carter Pittman.

Ken was a very proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in Korea. Later he re-enlisted and spent almost 25 additional years in the Army.  He married Annette Sowell on December 14, 1946 in DeKalb, TX. He traveled extensively, and usually took the "scenic route".  In his later years he became a Mason, achieving Master Mason. Ken loved old country swing, big band music and concerts, bingo and Tai Chi. Everyone liked Ken. He was a gentleman's gentleman and a man of few words, but he loved his family above all.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Annette Pittman on December 4, 2001; parents, Robert Buford Pittman & Retia Pate Carter Pittman; sister, Alice Dobbins.

Surviving are his two sons, Robert Joel Pittman (Denise) and James Noel "Jim" Pittman (Arlus) all of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren,  Merishia Marrow (John) of Gainesville, TX, Heather Marie Ortiz (Jacob) of Medina, TX, Tish Starnes of Mansfield, TX, Holly Pittman of Azle, TX, Amy Perry (Jason) of Arlington, TX and Jennifer Ramirez (Derek) of Hurst, TX; ten great-grandchildren,  Brooke, J.D., Mason, Garrett, Carson, Layton, Grayson, Taylor, Parker and Miles; two great-great grandchildren,  Caiden and Brooklyn;  brother, Joel Pittman (Angela) of Dallas, TX.;  a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Marrow, John Marrow, Mason Marrow, Taylor McPherson, J.D. Ortiz, Jacob Ortiz.

The family will receive friends at 1-2 PM prior to the service on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Wise Funeral Home.
