Kaye Shaffer

Funeral Services for Kaye Shaffer, age 72 of Blue Ridge, will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham . Officiating will be her nephew, Rev. Rocky Pope. Kaye passed away on September 17, 2018. She was born December 12, 1945 in DeKalb, Texas to Willis (Jack) Kennedy & Clara Juanita Johnson Kennedy.

Kaye married Larry William Shaffer on February 11, 1967 in Plano, TX.  She enjoyed the country life and fishing. She was a very lovable and caring person and loved life. She would always cook big meals for her family. Kaye never met a stranger and would speak to anyone, and everyone loved her.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Willis (Jack) Kennedy & Juanita Johnson Kennedy; brothers, Eugene Kennedy, Thomas Wayne Kennedy, Kenneth Kennedy and Robert Terry Kennedy, sisters, Sharon Webb and Jackie Orick.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Larry William Shaffer;  daughter, Lyn Rochelle Helsley and husband Greg of Bentonville, AR; two sons, Michael William Shaffer and wife Joelle of Raymore, MO and Phillip Perry Shaffer of Blue Ridge, TX; eight grandchildren,  Kristin Tanksley and husband Adam, Austin Brooke Cirincione and husband Kamren, Robert Jacob Helsley and wife Angela, Kimberly Rae Farek and husband Troy, Blake William Shaffer, Korbin Michael Shaffer and Kapen Joel Shaffer and Devin James Johnson; four great-grandchildren,  Arabella Molina, Teyla Farek, Augustus Tanksley and Damien William Shaffer; three sisters, Lynda Crane and husband Robert, Barabara Sue Shafer and Karen Kennedy; two brothers, James Kennedy and wife Sally, Roger Kennedy and wife Mary;  several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at 4:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel.

A private family inurnment in Leonard Cemetery will take place at a later date.
