Katherine Morris

Graveside Services for Katherine Morris, age 93, of Bonham, formerly of Lake Dallas will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Lee Jackson will officiate. Katherine passed away early Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Katherine was born on January 27. 1926, the daughter of Theodore Abel and Freida Kohl Abel. She grew up in the Denton area and graduated from Denton High School. She married Melton Ray Morris on November 24, 1945. Katherine was a homebody and enjoyed being a homemaker. Her sewing skills were exceptional. She would frequently sew for other people, making a little pocket money for herself. Katherine liked to work in the garden with her son, Gerald. She dearly loved spending time with her family. One of Katherine's favorite pastimes was sitting in her mother's hundred-year-old rocking chair. Just four days prior to her passing, Katherine was saved by her Lord Jesus Christ, this, by far, was Katherine's greatest achievement. She will be greatly missed. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, Gerald Wayne Morris and James Allen Morris.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ann Morris of Bonham, Texas; nephews, Jimmy Morris and wife Hazel of Bonham, Texas, Arthur Lee Morris of Linden, Texas, and Darrell Morris of St. Louis, Missouri; nieces, Jeannie Smith of Linden, Texas, Rhonda Hughes and husband Gary of Bonham, Texas, Brenda James and husband Randy of Garland, Texas; great nephew, Robert Morris and wife Crystal of Dodd City, Texas; great niece, Robin Williams and husband Rowdy of Ivanhoe, Texas; brother-in-law, Gene Morris and wife Kathy of Gustine, Texas; and several extended family and friends.
