Funeral services celebrating the life of Katelynn Nicole Woodlee, 18, of the Allens Chapel Community of Fannin County, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the Dodd City Gymnasium, Dodd City, Texas. Services are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Everett will officiate. Burial will follow in Vineyard Grove Cemetery. Katelynn passed away Friday night, September 26, 2014 near Davis, Oklahoma.
Katelynn was born February 19, 1996 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of John William Woodlee and Christie Lynn Parker Woodlee. She was a 2014 honors graduate of Dodd City High School. During her High School years, she played volleyball for four years and basketball for three years, but softball was her passion. Katelynn played Short Stop for the Dodd City Hornets softball team for four years. She was named All Texomaland and All State Short Stop and had received numerous other awards. Katelynn was awarded a softball scholarship to play for the Lions at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, Texas where she was studying Kinesiology. She loved singing and being outdoors, riding four wheelers, swimming, and shooting. Katelynn was preceded in death by her mother on Jan. 17, 2013.
Katelynn is survived by her father, John Woodlee and wife, Misty of Allens Chapel, Texas; sister, Cassandra Woodlee of Allens Chapel, Texas; maternal grandparents, Curtis and Linda Parker of Palestine, Texas; paternal grandparents, Mary and Lloyd Woodlee of Allens Chapel, Texas; stepbrother, Austin Dobson of Allens Chapel, Texas;
stepsister, Cayla Dobson of Nebraska; step maternal grandparents, Rich and Sue Johnson of California; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
