Bonham

Funeral service for Nola June Kerr, 85, of Bonham, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Boyd Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Rev. Kevin Towery and Rev. Mike Allred will officiate.  Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery.  June passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday morning, July 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

June was born December 15, 1935 in Butler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gardner Altus Smith and Clara Neola Lee Smith.  She was a graduate of Paris High School.  June married the love of her life, Jimmy Kerr, on February 11, 1955 in Paris, Texas.  Employed in the note department at Fannin Bank for many years. she taught and trained many employees who affectionately named her June Bug.  Although June was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed needlepoint and playing games, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She was a longtime member of Boyd Baptist Church.  June was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, D. W. Smith and Elvin Orn Smith and a sister, Ella Chlorine Smith Easton.

June leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 66 years, Jimmy Kerr of Bonham, TX; three daughters, Connie Kerr Skidmore (Danny) of Ravenna, TX, Dana Kerr of Bonham, TX and Jimette Kerr (Kriss Owens) of Coppell, TX; grandchildren, Stoney Skidmore, Bodey Skidmore (Ashley), Lori Lynn Little (Tony),  and Caleb Trent Castleberry; great grandchildren, Ambrie Skidmore, Bradey Skidmore, Texie Skidmore, Sydney June Little and Allison Mary Little; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Boyd Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until service Sunday afternoon.

Memorials may be made to Boyd Baptist Church (General Fund) or the American Heart Association.
