Joye Juanelle Pendergrass

Funeral services for Joye Juanelle Pendergrass, 80, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Wise Funeral Home. Mr. Carl Dye and Mr. Chris Pendergrass will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Joye passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at her residence.
Joye was born November 14, 1930 in Childress, Texas, the daughter of Clarence and Marie Darter. She grew up on a dairy farm in Childress. She graduated Childress High School in 1948 and went on to college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. This is where Joye met Ken Pendergrass. They married on March 23, 1950 and had four children.
Joye enjoyed her family, her many grandchildren, and the outdoors. She loved gardening, mowing (on Grandma's fast riding lawn mower), and all yard work. She took pride in all her numerous trees so never complained about picking up sticks.
Joye is preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Pendergrass and son Steve Pendergrass.
Joye is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Gary Pendergrass with children Vincent and Monica; Tammy Pettie and Jim Woodard with children Kelli, Staci, and Bucky; Renee and Monty Feagley with children Jordan and Jake; Kristi Pendergrass with children Bryan, Chris, Randy, Jennifer, Michelle, and Anita. Great-grandchildren include Aubri, Baylee, Allie, Matthew and Bronson.
