Joyce Cobern

Graveside services for Hazel Joyce Cobern, age 86, of Pottsboro, formerly of Fannin County, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Bro. Mike Burt will officiate.  Joyce passed away at the Ridgeview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Cleburne, Texas.

Joyce was born on September 11, 1934 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Lewis Wesley McGuire and Daisy Mae Cole McGuire.  She was a 1952 graduate Paris High School.  She married Vernon Douglas Sutherland and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2020.  She enjoyed crafts and gave most of her time and effort into those along with her occupation in helping others.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Lee Sutherland on September 30, 1971 and her brothers, Thomas and Travis McGuire.

She is survived by her son Fred Sutherland of Cleburne and grandchildren, Jimmy Sutherland and Christal Miller Sutherland and great grandchildren, Jackson Miller and Kendall Miller.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until service time on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
