Josephine Kay (Josie) Hartwell

Graveside services for Josephine Kay (Josie) Hartwell, age 77 of Edhube, will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham, TX , under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Chaplain Mark Owens. Josephine passed away on May 2, 2018. She was born October 13, 1940 in Athens, TX to Aaron Clifford Phillips and Lillie Lee Phillips.

Josephine was the manager of Braum's Ice Cream Store in Bonham for many years and later manager for Burger King in Bonham.She and her husband John enjoyed participating in competition Black Powder guns and archery.When not competing, she like to go hunting and fishing with John. She owned and operated a ceramic shop in Edhube for a few years. She also enjoyed crochet and sewing, working on the farm, gardening and growing flowers.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Clifford Phillips & Lillie Lee Phillips; sisters, Dorothy Mae Phillips and Juanita Phillips; brother, Junior Phillips.

Surviving are her husband, John Waymon Hartwell; three daughters,  Paula Spindle and husband Robert of Randolph, TX, Teresa McCormick and husband Michael of Leonard, TX and Dorothy Henthorne of Washington; three sons,  Edward Henthorne of Broken Bow, OK; step-sons, Scott Hartwell of Edhube, TX and Chris Hartwell and wife Beth of Frisco, TX; thirteen grandchildren,  Brodie Spindle and wife Jessica, Dana Smith and husband Steven, Christina Spindle, Robert Spindle, II, Debi Spindle, Scott, Joseph and Tim Worthington, Kayla and Kyle Henthorne, Morgan, Austin and Ariel Hartwell; ten great-grandchildren,  Several great-grandchildren;  sister,  Jaydean Phillips; .;  numerous nieces and nephews.
