John Edward Surratt

John Surratt, age 94 of New Boston, TX passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, TX. John was born December 22, 1923 in New Boston.

John was a Veteran of World War II, where he was a Sharp-Shooter, Truck Driver and Boxer. He was an Assembly of God Pastor for 35 years. John enjoyed fishing. He was a very personable man and loved other people. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Mamie Surratt; parents, John Franklin Surratt & Minnie Lee Surratt; great-grandson, Steave Surratt; 12 brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Surviving are his  daughter, Carol Brown and husband Mark of Alabama;  son,  Johnnny Surratt and wife Karen of New Boston, TX; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
