John Lawrence Naylor, Sr.

Funeral service for John Lawrence Naylor, Sr., 79, of Ivanhoe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Johnson and Rev. Brian Everett will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Randolph Lindsey Cemetery. John passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at his residence.
John was born Nov. 1, 1932 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, son of the late William Naylor and Alice R. Elliott Naylor. He was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. John was a retired Tech Sergeant with the US Air Force, serving his country in the Korean War and Vietnam. Following retirement, he was employed with the maintenance department at American Airlines for 10 years and was Fire Chief with the North Fannin County Volunteer Fire Dept. for 27 years. John enjoyed collecting and building model airplanes and attending air shows. He attended Duplex Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John L. Naylor, Jr. "Butch", a grandson, Christopher Naylor and a half-brother, Ralph Lein.
John is survived by Former spouse, Johnnie Naylor of Telephone, TX, Sons, Leonard R. Naylor of Ivanhoe, TX, Ronald W. "Ronny" Naylor and wife, Deborah of Telephone, TX, and Michael David Naylor and wife, Joevelyn of Leonard, TX,Daughter, Pam Gibbs and husband, Lynn of Telephone, TX, Brothers, Robert Naylor of Schenectady, NY and Dicky Naylor of Fitchburg, MA,
8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild
Numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Toby Naylor, Travis Naylor, Ross Naylor, Butch Naylor, Hunter Vaught, and Jesse Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Amber Fite, Ashley Segal, Jaime Roberts, Tasha Burkard and Erin Naylor.
