A Memorial Service will then be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd; Plano, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Ernie Essary, assisted by Rev. Rix Tillman and Rev. Neal Jeffrey. John passed away on December 7, 2017 in Plano. He was born July 15, 1944 in Edhube, Texas to John William Benesch and Luna Jewell Morgan Benesch. He married Linda Ann Clark on August 22, 1964 in Bonham, Texas.

John enjoyed playing tennis, and he loved dogs. He obtained his private pilot license in the 70s. He also loved baseball, especially the Minor League teams, namely the Frisco Roughriders. He attended their games as often as he could. His work allowed him to travel often and whenever possible would attend a baseball game. Because of his love of baseball, he was very knowledgeable of the game, and could provide amazing trivia to anyone with a challenge. Not only did he know baseball, but he was also a history buff. He also enjoyed golf, but didn't begin playing until later in life, because he felt, during his working years that it would take too much time from his family, which was not an option. John was always an optimistic person, never negative about any of life's challenges up to and including his final hours. John and Linda were members of Prestonwood Baptist Church, and active in the Encouragers Class, a group formed by Zig Ziglar.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John & Luna Benesch.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Linda Benesch; daughters, Loretta Benesch of Tulsa, OK and Susan Harper and husband Greg of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Morgan Harper and Jackson Harper of Flower Mound, TX.

The family will receive friends at 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home.
