Memorial services for Joe Bailey Todd, Jr., 67, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at First Christian Church, 701 N. Main St., Bonham, TX 75418, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Rick Edwards will officiate. Joe passed away early Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his residence.
Joe was born September 1, 1948 in Sherman, Texas, the son of Joe Bailey Todd, Sr. and Opal Augustine "Peggy" Bennett Todd. He was a 1966 graduate of Bonham High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University and East Texas State University. Joe married Melanie Terry on March 1, 1969 at First Christian Church in Bonham. He was a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad for many years and later worked adjusting Inland Marine & Bailey Insurance policies. Joe attended First Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading and writing poetry. A true people person, he loved Trade's Day weekends where he spent countless hours visiting with friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his wife, Melanie Terry Todd of Bonham, Texas; two
ons, Matt Todd and wife, Cressie of Bells, Texas and Zach Todd of Clayton, Oklahoma; daughter, Sonya Todd Lawrence and husband, Brian of Paris, Texas; sister, Carol Todd Turner and husband, Dennie of Denison, Texas; three grandchildren, Justin Lawrence, Sommerlan Dawn Todd and Denise Gallatin; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
