Funeral services for Joe Ed Mulkey, 88, of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Liz Talbert and Rev. Dyan Dietz will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery. Joe passed away early Tuesday morning, March 17, 2015 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham, TX.
Joe was born Sept. 28, 1926 in Sherman, Texas, the son of Henry Edwin Mulkey and Effie Greenhill Mulkey. He was a 1943 graduate of Sherman High School and received his bachelor's degree from Austin College. Joe was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He married Glenda Carlton on Feb. 29, 1948 in McKinney, Texas. Joe was a retired Systems Analyst with Anderson Clayton Foods. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and the Builders Sunday School Class. He drove the church bus and enjoyed working in his yard. Joe was past President of ASM and the Treasurer for RSVP in Bonham. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tyrus Rex Mulkey and a sister, Emma Bernice Brown.
Joe is survived by his wife, Glenda Mulkey of Bonham, TX; two sons, Dale Mulkey and wife, Sandra of Rowlett, TX, and Jeff Mulkey and wife, Dee of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Debbie Fetzer and husband, Mark of Garland, TX; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Mulkey, Dwayne Cove, Drew Mulkey, Brian Mulkey, Russell Fetzer and Carl Bradford.
