Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Taylor, 77, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Ralph Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Dodd City Cemetery. Jimmy passed away Sunday morning, April 21, 2013 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy.
Jimmy was born March 2, 1936 in Fannin County, Texas, the son of Hubert Ray Taylor and Zelma Susan Pace Taylor. He attended Fannin County schools and Paris Junior College. Jimmy married Wanda Lou Walker on March 2, 1956 in Bonham, and she preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2013. He was a member of Fannin Bible Baptist Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Jimmy was a retired machine operator for General Cable in Bonham. Jimmy enjoyed making walking canes and working on knives. He was preceded in death by a sister in 1931 and his parents.
Jimmy is survived by 2 sons, Anthony Ray "Andy" Taylor and wife, Susan of Bonham, TX and Robert Taylor and wife, Sharon of Sherman, TX, grandchildren, Christopher A. Taylor and wife, Chantelle of Portales, NM, Ben Taylor and wife, Jammie and Gregory Taylor, all of Bonham, TX, and Melody Avila and husband, Juan of Sherman, TX, great grandchildren, Sarah and Dakota Taylor of Portales, NM, Chrissy and Brandon Taylor of Bonham, TX, and Ian Avila of Sherman, TX
Pallbearers will be Andy Taylor, Robert Taylor, Chris Taylor, Ben Taylor, Greg Taylor and Melody Avila.
