Funeral Services for Jimmy Harold Butler, age 71, of Durant, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gober Cemetery in Gober, Texas. Jimmy passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his residence in Durant, Oklahoma.
Jimmy was born on May 1, 1950, in Hail Community of Fannin County, Texas, the son of Thomas Gifford Butler and Ruth Estelle Ward Butler. He married Barbara Ann Hall on December 23, 1973, in Borger, Texas. Jimmy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era War and the Desert Storm Era War. He was a courageous man, a hero to his children and grandchildren. Jimmy enjoyed taking care of his yard, mowing almost every day. He was a hard worker, working many different trades. He was the definition of a jack of all trades. Jimmy was someone you could depend on and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a friend to many. Jimmy will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thomas, Bobby, and Sammy and sisters, Patsy, Darlene, Billie Ruth, and Lanora.
Jimmy left to cherish his memories his wife of 47 years, Barbara Butler of Durant, Oklahoma; sons, Jimmy Don Butler and wife Jennifer of Durant, Oklahoma and John Moreland Butler of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters, Gina Carol Salazar and husband Johnny of Durant, Oklahoma and Mattie Lee Green of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Donald Lee Butler and wife Dorothy Faye of Ladonia, Texas; sisters, Mary Jackson and husband Ronnie of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Ellen Matthews and husband Tommy of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Kyla Cook, Valarie Butler, Karmen Comini and husband Angelo, Faith Giddeon and husband Michael, Summer Logan, Nina Butler, Abby "Max" Butler, and Michael Salazar; great grandchildren, Elijah Medina and Logan Comini; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sonders, Eric Stafford, Bobby Burland, Johnny Salazar, Arty Page, and Gaired McCarter.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home on Monday, September 6, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
