Jim "Bronc" Barker

Funeral Services for Jim "Bronc" Barker, age 60, of Sadler, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Fletcher will officiate with the assistance of Pastor Don Brown. Burial will follow at Dodd City Cemetery. Jim passed away Thursday morning, February 9, 2017, in Trenton, Texas.
Jim was born on March 25, 1956, the son of Houston Vannoy Barker and Mamie Jo Ivey Johnston. He was a Bonham High School graduate. Jim worked for Peterbilt until his retirement. He attended the Edhube Baptist Church. Jim ranched for many years. He rodeoed for 27 years and was a bull rider. Jim also enjoyed traveling and antiquing. He is preceded in death by his father.

Jim is survived by his Daughter, Candice Barker of Pottsboro, Texas; Mother, Mamie Jo Johnston of Leonard, Texas; Sisters, Crystal Shafer and husband Tim of Trenton, Texas, Mena Graham and husband David of North Carolina, Leona Todd of Bonham, Texas, and Kelley Moore of Farmers Branch, Texas; Grandchildren, Chloe Urquhart and Ryder Urquhart, both of Pottsboro, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12. 2017.
