Memorial Graveside services for Jess David Jones, 78, of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Arledge Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Normous Free and Rev. Kirk Jones will officiate. Jess passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Bonham, TX.
Jess was born August 27, 1934 in Bailey, Texas, the son of Loy Lonzo Jones and Mary Adalyne Simmons Jones. He was a graduate of Bailey High School where he was an outstanding basketball player for the Bailey Bulldogs. Jess enjoyed supporting his kids in their athletic events and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. He loved playing golf and riding his bicycle. Jess was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church. Jess was a machinist at General Cable where he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Chris Jones.
Jess is survived by 3 sons, Rev. Kirk Jones and wife, Jennifer of Purcell, OK, Loy Jones and wife, Carrie Ann of Fort Worth, TX, and Roy Jones and wife, Terri of Ector, TX, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Congregational Methodist Church, 1202 N. State Hwy 121, Bonham, TX 75418.
