Jerry Ray Sadler passed away with his loving family by his side on July 1, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
Jerry was born on August 19, 1938 in Leonard, TX to James Creed Sadler and Una Sue Doty Sadler. Jerry was born into humble beginnings. It was these beginnings that carved out hard work and determination in him. At a young age Jerry would work to help provide for his family. Service to others led him to enlist in the United States Army and serve his country for 5 years. After leaving the service Jerry went on to work as a Private Eye and purchased a service station in Memphis, TN. When his son Sammy was 2 years old the family moved back to Leonard, TX. Jerry owned his own painting company, and also worked with his sister and her husband in their paint company. Later in his life he owned and operated his own drywall business, where he worked with his best friend and son Sammy at S&S Commercial Drywall. In his early years some of his favorite times were spent hunting with his bird dogs and racing horses. Jerry enjoyed life's simple pleasures whether it was watching an episode of Gunsmoke or The Rifleman, reading a good book, or working on his old Chevy truck, Jerry was a content man. His love for the farm and taking care of the cattle will live on through his family. Every time they watch a brilliant sunset they will look to the Heavens and smile at the thought of Jerry.
