Jami Lynn Evans

A gathering of family and friends for Jami Evans, age 57 of Wolfe City, TX will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Wise Funeral Home in Bonham, TX . Jami passed away on August 15, 2018. She was born September 23, 1960 at Fort Sam Houston, TX to Ernest Ray Jones & Penelope Beatrice Bryan Jones.

Jami graduated from Klein High School in Klein, TX in 1979. She attended Stephen F. Austin, where she greatly enjoyed playing tennis. Jami married R. Paul Evans on August 15, 1981 in Klein, TX.  A short time after marriage, she started bowling, going so far as to manage a bowling alley for 10 years and playing in national tournaments. She was a veracious reader. Everything she attempted to do, she would do it passionately.  Jami loved her farm and enjoyed the country life, knitting in her rocking chair for hours.  She was full of life and lit up any event she attended.  She never missed a Friday night dinner with Paul and friends. She loved spending time with and spoiling her granddaughters.

Jami was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Ray Jones.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, R. Paul Evans;  mother, Penelope Jones; children, Brent Lee Evans and wife Kristen Rosen, PhD of San Antonio, TX, Megan Lynn Palmer and husband Andrew of McKinney, TX and Sean Allen Evans of Wolfe City, TX two grandchildren,  Madeline and Olivia Palmer; two sisters, Jennifer Jones of Austin, TX, Julia Sanchez, PhD of Stevens Ranch, CA;  brother, Bryan Jones of Chicago, IL.;  and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
