James Ray Sherer

A celebration of life for James Ray Sherer, 66, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 Monday, June 13, 2016 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jeff Burnett will officiate. Burial will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery. James passed away early Friday morning, June 10, 2016 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center.
James was born November 27, 1949 in Bonham, Texas, the son of Joyce Ray Sherer and Elsie Jo Brent Smith. He was a 1968 graduate of Bonham High School and a 1974 graduate of East Texas State University in Commerce. James married Brenda Hooks on January 18, 1969 in Bonham. He owned and operated Sherer Electric for 34 years. His passion was spending time with his family and friends and playing tennis and fishing. He helped with both Bonham and Trenton High School tennis. James was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gloria Jean "Jeanie" Sherer.
James is survived by his Wife, Brenda Sherer; Daughters, Kim Gaston and husband, Chris and Jami Beckwith and husband, Freddie; Grandchildren, Alyssa, Georgia, Braden and Logan Gaston; Aunt, Alene Brent; and Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Craig Hooks, Matthew Rater, Devin Haggard, Kyle Fuller, Josh Abbott and Russell Holloman.
Memorials may be made to the Fannin County Children's Center.
