A cremation was held for James Walter "Jimmy" Stewart, 78, of Bonham, who passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service is pending at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Wise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy was born March 10, 1934 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Walter F. Stewart and Ruth Mitchell Stewart. He was a graduate of Honey Grove High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Texas A & M Commerce (formerly East Texas State University). He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order (Paragon). Jimmy was a US Army veteran of the Korean War where he served as a paratrooper. He was a banker for many years and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. Jimmy served on the board of the Sam Rayburn Library and "Friends of Sam Rayburn Library".
