James Robert "Jim" Harris

Funeral services for James Robert "Jim" Harris, 79, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Boyd Baptist Church. Bro. Lyn Holly and Jerry Shaffer will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Leonard Cemetery. Jim passed away Tuesday morning at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
Jim was born May 30, 1933 in Rising Star, Texas, the son of Claude and Roxie Harris. He attended school in Fort Worth, Texas and was a US Navy veteran. Jim married Marie Shaffer on July 5, 1969 in Plano, Texas. He was an office expediter for Harvenson and Fisher in the oil field and worked at L.T.V. Helicopter for a short time. Jim was a member of Boyd Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Jean Foster, a brother, Bill Harris and a sister, Wanda.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marie Harris of Bonham, TX,
Sons, Rodney Harris of Bedford, TX, and Brian Warren and wife, Jody of Burleson, TX, Daughters, Sheila Mendez and husband, Sal of Alvarado, TX, Debbie Dutton and husband, Charlie, Cheri LaReau and husband, Andy, and Anita Culver and friend, Homer, all of New Mexico, Brother-in-law, Larry Shaffer and wife, Kaye of Blue Ridge, TX, Sister-in-law, Flo Harris of Williamsburg, VA,
Grandchildren, Kailyn Harris, Angie Mendez, Sal Mendez, Jr., David and Michael Richardson, Krystal and T.J. Sappington, Jeremy Roach and Joey Culver and
Several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Don Williams, Bob Cheairs, Don Winkler, Ben Whitehead, Don Barnet, David Williams and Bud Sutherland.
