James M. (Jim) Crittenden

Funeral Services for James M. (Jim) Crittenden, age 67 of Bonham, TX will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX . Officiating will be Rev. Tommy Brummett. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Jim passed away on April 26, 2018. He was born May 18, 1950 in Bonham, Texas to Clyde James Crittenden and Laverne Keeton Crittenden.

Jim grew up in Bonham. He graduated in 1968 from Bonham High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was active in Scouting throughout his childhood, reaching Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He received his Bachelors in Economics from Texas Tech University, with honors in 1972. While at Texas Tech, he was introduced to his love of photography, which he continued to pursue throughout his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham. He served in various local and state government capacities and on numerous boards in Fannin and Grayson Counties, including the Texoma Health Foundation Board and the Bonham Industrial Foundation Board. After growing up and working in the family business, Jim owned and operated Crittenden Propane Company for over 20 years and worked with Crittenden Cattle Company. Jim spent his last years continuing his passion for photography and spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde James Crittenden & Laverne Keeton Crittenden; son, James Adam Crittenden in 1999.

Surviving are his daughter, Sarah Johnson and husband Jeremiah of Van Alstyne, TX; four grandchildren, Kade, Lola, Winston and Vivian Johnson; brother, Randy Crittenden and wife Linda of Paris, TX.; lifelong friend, Suzanne Gaskin; niece, Amy Easley

Pallbearers will be Buster Easley, Glen Gary, Jeremiah Johnson, Ray Northcutt, Kasey Vestal, Reed Vestal. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Cruise, Roy Floyd, Gary Hall, Warren Jamieson, Roger Reeves.

The family will receive friends at 5-7 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel.
