James L. Huckabee

Masonic and Military Graveside services for James L. Huckabee, age 94, will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Mr. Huckabee passed away on October 3, 2015 at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Living Center in Bonham.
Mr. Huckabee was born on April 29, 1921 in Van Zandt Co., TX, the son of Mack Huckabee and Pearl Hargrove Huckabee. He married Corena Fay Hood on February 25, 1943 in Lorenzo, Texas and she preceded him in death after over 65 years of marriage. Mr. Huckabee served in the United States Army from Nov. 27, 1942 to February 4, 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo, Texas and was a member of the Emma Masonic Lodge #931 for 65 years. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, LeeAnn Huckabee.
He is survived by:
Son: Eddie and Barbara Huckabee of Allen, TX
Daughter: Kay Lawson and Cam of Aurora, CO
Brother: Charlie Huckabee of Sacramento, CA
Grandchildren: Amy Lawson, Matt Lawson and wife Joanne, Terri Clark and husband Chuck, Marci Douthit and husband Brian.
6 Great Grandchildren: Dylan Clark, Riley Clark, Hannah Lawson, Elias Douthit, Jaxon Douthit, and Alysa Douthit.
