James Roy Bruce

Funeral services for James Roy Bruce, 76, of Trenton, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at the Living Word Church of God in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Rev. Eddie Prince will officiate.  ( Masks are encouraged), Burial will follow in Randolph-Lindsey Cemetery in Randolph, Texas.   James passed away Sunday night, Aug. 9, 2020 at Medical City of McKinney.

James was born November 29, 1943 in Telephone, Texas, the son of Wilson W. Bruce and Mildred Wheless Bruce.  He married Katherine "Kaye" Hilliard on June 1, 1962 and she preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1982.  He later married Carol Ferguson on Dec. 4, 1999 at the Hebron Baptist Church in the Ambrose Community of Grayson County.  James was a former firefighter with the Bonham Fire Department and worked for Equipment Depot.  He enjoyed motorcycles and race cars and was a member of the Red River Valley Car Club.  He also loved hunting and fishing.  James was a member of the Living Word Church of God.  He was preceded in death by his son, James Wilson Bruce on May 30, 1984 and his parents,

James leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carol Bruce of Trenton, TX; son, Charles Neil Bruce of Bonham, TX; stepson, Bruce Titsworth of Dallas, TX;  stepdaughters, Robin Davenport of Randolph, TX and Marsha Ferguson of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Ethan Bruce and Amanda Harris; numerous stepgrandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

James will lie in state at Wise Funeral Home from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020.
