James Michael (Hossy) Broiles passed away at Texoma Medical Center on March 5, 2024 with his family by his side.
He was born on August 26, 1949 in El Paso, TX to parents, James and Elizabeth Broiles. James was raised in Bonham, TX and graduated from Bonham High School. James joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was later awarded the Bronze Star for his loyalty, diligence, and devotion during a very hostile mission. James will be fondly remembered for his love of classic cars, vacations spent at the coast, and passion for sports. In his free time you would catch James playing hippie football, softball, golf putting for Brewski, and winning at Poker. James was a golf course superintendent at Legacy Ridge Country Club and a proud moment for him came when he was awarded - Best Golf Greens in North Texas. Hard work and dedication was the very fabric of James and this will live on through the lives of his sons, Chris and Jordan. James loved his family and dedicated the last few years of his mothers life to taking care of her. Though we grieve his absence, we know James's spirit is alive and well. Every time we meet on the greens we know James will be there.
James is preceded in death by his parents. Those left to carry on his memory, sons, Christopher and Jordan Broiles, brother, John Broiles and sister, Jo Ellen Clardy.
A celebration of life service is 10:30am, Friday, March 8, 2024 at Legacy Ridge Country Club, 2201 Country Club Drive, Bonham, TX. James will be laid to rest with Military Honors on March 27, 2024 at 10:30 @ Gober Cemetery, Gober, TX.
