James LeGrand Birdwell
Graveside services for James LeGrand Birdwell, 75, of Sherman, formerly of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 28, 2011 in Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor David Frierson will officiate. LeGrand passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Homestead of Sherman.
LeGrand was born January 28, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of James Burton Birdwell and Sally Euzelia Sims Birdwell. He was a 1953 graduate of Bonham High School and attended Austin College and Paris Junior College. He was a graduate of North American School of Travel in Newport Beach, California (1968-1969). After college he returned to Bonham and went to work for his father at Bonham Drug Co. as the bookkeeper and buyer where he remained until the store sold in 1978. He began in the home health field in 1993. LeGrand had lived in Sherman since 1987 and was a member of Sherwood Shores Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Gay Martin, in 1984 and his parents.
