Graveside services for Jacky VanHuss, age 70 of Dodd City, will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Dodd City Cemetery in Dodd City, Texas, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Kevin Lane. Jacky passed away on January 13, 2018.
Jacky was born on October 2, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to John Dean VanHuss and Thelma Lou Oakley VanHuss. He attended school in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jacky married Joyce Lynn Sandridge on December 21, 1968 in Bonham, Texas. He worked as a carpenter at the VA. Jacky was fond of animals, especially horses. One of his most cherished pastimes was driving horses. Jacky loved his family and often enjoyed watching his beloved wife, Joyce, working in her garden. He will be most ardently missed. Jacky was preceded in death by his, parents, John Dean VanHuss & Thelma VanHuss; sister, Joan Wagner, and brother, Tom VanHuss.
Jacky is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Lynn VanHuss; sons, Jeffery VanHuss and wife Shannon of Dodd City, Texas, and Jonathan VanHuss and wife Jennifer of Dodd City, Texas; grandchildren, Nate VanHuss, Brailey Kretlow and husband Robert, Sierra Green, Toby Green, Caleb Rife, and Peyton Castle; sisters, Shirley Taylor of Wichita Falls, Texas, Johnnie Mitchell and husband Billy of Wichita Falls, Texas, Salley Ashton and husband Orville of Burk Burnett, Texas, Rebecca Nixon and husband Gerald of Amarillo, Texas, and Melissa Wright and husband Weldon of Henretta, Texas; Other surviving family include, Nephew Bryan Taylor and wife Carla of Dean, Texas; Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
