Funeral Services for Lee Hornbuckle, 87 of Ivanhoe will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Duplex Cemetery. Lee passed away surrounded by family on January 19, 2016 at her residence.
Lee was born on August 27, 1928, the daughter of Moody Belcher and Lillie Mae Tutt. She graduated from Talco High School. Lee married C. W. Hornbuckle on September 5, 1948 in DeKalb, Bowie County, Texas. She attended Duplex Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Farmers Branch Chapter. Lee enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was fond of gardening and enjoyed the peace it brought her. Lee was known as a Domino shark, an expert at the game. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joe and George Belcher, and sisters, Christine and Martha Sue Belcher.
Lee is survived by her husband of 67 years, C. W. Hornbuckle of Ivanhoe, Texas; Daughter, Paula Hipp and husband Don of Prosper, Texas; Sisters, Jean Wright of Star Harbor, Texas, Wanda Cooksey and husband Charles of Denison, Texas; Sister-In-Laws, Betty Tucker of Mississippi, Sue Rollins and husband Edwin of Texas, and Doris Jennings and husband Phillip of Montana; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bill Gordon, Tony Brawner, John Raines, Dickie Calloway, Nolan Morris, and Doyle Price..
Honorary pallbearers will be James Renfro..
The family will receive friends Friday, January 22, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
