Howard Ray Zindars passed away on April 17, 2023 at the Wesley House Assisted Living in Bonham, Texas.
Howard was born on December 21, 1929 in Decatur, Illinois to Howard Russell Zindars and Lola Ray Fitzwater Zindars. He grew up on a farm northwest of Sadorus until he was 18 years of age. Howard graduated from Sadorus High School and then attended the University of Illinois and Illinois Commercial College. After college he served his country by joining the United States Airforce. His service was from 1950 to 1954 and when he left the Airforce he left with the rank of staff sergeant. Howard married Mary Lou Burdick in 1953 and together they had two sons, Mark and Kevin. Howard went on to work for Twin City Pontiac and Accent Agency for 35 years. He then worked for the Carle Foundation Hospital as a parking attendant for 23 years. Hard work and dedication was at the core of who Howard was. Howard was a member of the American Business Club, Carle Auxiliary, Champaign United Methodist Church and Sadorus Methodist Church.
Howard is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Zindars, second wife, Juanita Rosenberger, son, Mark Howard Zindars, and parents, Howard and Lola Zindars.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Zindars and wife Sherry, granddaughters, Tia Steinlicht, Alana Jones and their families, two great grandchildren and one soon to be, great great grandchild, and the family of Juanita Rosenberger.
The family will have a celebration of life in Illinois at a later date.
