Herbert Romalice Swanier Iii

Herbert Romalice Swanier III passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023 at Texoma Medical Center in Dension, Texas.

Herbert was born to parents Herbert Romalice Swanier Jr. and Delores Theresa Jones Swanier on February 10, 1951 in Waukegan, Illinois. He was a man dedicated to serving his country and at age 17 joined the United States Airforce. Herbert was a kind, loving soul who enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his precious dogs. Herbert was a steel worker having spent many years dedicated to the craft at US Steel and Temple Steel. In his later years he worked for the VA Hospital and Clyde W. Cosper in Bonham. Faith was at the center of Herbert's life. He served at Proviso Baptist MB Church, and New Life Church of God and Christ. Herbert was blessed to have had great loves of his life in Karen, Gwendolyn, Evelyn, Tara and Ella. Herbert was also a Mason who enjoyed the brotherly fellowship being a Mason provided. Herbert will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents, Herbert Swanier Jr. and Dolores Russell, sisters, Debra Swanier, Renee Swanier, twins, Diane Faye Barre, Donald Ray Swanier, former wife Evelyn, and special friend Pearl Johnson.

Herbert is survived by sister, Denise Swanier Toney, brothers, Darryl Swanier, Dennis Swanier, Vincent Swanier, Wendell (Jacqueline) Russell, Michael (Tameeca) Russell, adopted daughter, Marilyn McCain, grandchildren, DaRon Battle, Marlin Johnson, Nia Johnson, Navia Mosley, nephews, Marvan Toney (Shana), Lawrence Toney, David Davenport, Cashton Samir Miles, Cameron Valentino Miles, Ali Pruitt, David Davenport Jr., nieces, Krystina Russell, Michelle (Antonio) Murphy, Sara Banks, Sasha Russell, Marlene Pruitt, Philis Swanier, Felicia Swanier, Kylee Davenport, cousins, Patricia Davenport, Veronica Sealy, Lawrence Munday, Cleo (Babe) Wilson and former wives, Karen, Gwendolyn, Ella, Tara, along with special friends, John (Gecko) Calvin, Steve Fleming, Ricky Barnett and Timothy Myers.

The family is having a private celebration of life to honor Herbert on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
