Henry James Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. Henry James Jr., age 81, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Arledge Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home.  Mr. Charles Wrenn will officiate.  Mr. James passed away at his residence in Bonham, Texas on January 2, 2021.

Henry was born on August 22, 1939 in Honey Grove, Texas, the son of Henry James, Sr., and Harvey Nella "Bay" Wren.  He was a graduate of Honey Grove High School and later served in the United States Army in Korea as a S&S Missile operator called the "Honest John".  He later worked for DeRose Industries from 1965 till closing and for Super Sack for eleven months and then as a Dietician for the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center for 14 years.  He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in Bonham, Texas and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He was preceded in death by his former spouses, Barbara Pevey and Nell Busby.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Wilson of Bonham, cousin by marriage, Rachel Phillips, and grandchildren, KJ Nelson and wife Tasha and their three children, Kamden, Kenna and Kingston; Andrew Nelson and wife Camille and their two children, Arianna and Cassius, Mariah Nelson, Aisha Jones and son Jaylon, Kelisha Champion and children,  Kayla and Kason, his little buddy Gizmo and extended family and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
