Graveside services for Harold "Fitz" Fitzwater, 78, of Bonham, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Brown Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Chaplain Mark D. Posey will officiate. Mr. Fitzwater passed away Saturday morning, April 13, 2013 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
Mr. Fitzwater was born August 31, 1934 in Bonham, Texas, the son of Earl Sidney Fitzwater and Izora Ruth Snead Fitzwater. Mr. Fitzwater was in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and following his discharge he held sales positions in both Dallas and Houston. In the early 1970's he moved to Denver, Colorado where he was a partner and President of Peak Containers. In 1984, he retired from that company but remained in Denver where he pursued real estate interests including wheat farming. He returned to Bonham in 2002. Mr. Fitzwater was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Fitzwater, two sisters, Ruth Moore and Wilma Joyce Fitzwater.
He is survived by:
Sisters: Jackie McGehee and husband Dave of Durant, Oklahoma
Linda Harrell of Bonham
Numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:00 PM Monday April 15, 2013.
