Harold Harry Bicknell

Memorial services with military honors for Harold Harry Bicknell, 82, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Lyn Holly will officiate. Harold passed away early Monday, December 3, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman.

Harold was born August 26, 1930 in Bailey, Texas, the son of John L. Bicknell and Eunice Pauline Paty Bicknell. He was a graduate of Bailey High School. Harold was a US Army veteran (Sgt., 1st Class) of the Korean War, serving from Nov. 1949 to Jan. 1953. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars and the UN Service Medal. Harold married Carolyn June Hasten on Aug. 6, 1954. He attended barber school in Fort Worth and Dallas where he earned his master's barber license. Harold was a barber for 20 years, working in Sherman, Perrin Field (the officers barber shop) and Bonham where he owned and operated his own shop for 15 of the 20 years. He attended Grayson County College where he studied real estate. He later owned and operated carwashes in Bonham, Wolfe City, Whitewright, Bells and Ector for 25 years. Harold was a member of Boyd Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cindy Kay Bicknell and Connie Benay Bicknell; his parents; a brother, Gerald Wayne Bicknell; and two grandchildren, Jared Dillon Baugh and Ashley Nicole Kennedy.

He is survived by
Wife, June Bicknell of Bonham, TX, Daughter, Sherrie Renea Winnett and husband, Jerry of Austin, TX, four Grandchildren, Kelsey Winnett, Misty Goodin, Rainey Goodin, and Jason Goodin and one Great Grandson, Dillon Gus Baugh

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Boyd Baptist Church Building Fund, 3707 N. State Hwy 78, Bonham, TX 75418.
