Guy Ransom

Funeral Services for Guy "Mr. Paw Paw" Ransom, age 78, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Upper Union Cemetery in Ravenna, Texas. Guy passed away lovingly surrounded by family on April 19, 2022, at his home in Bonham, Texas.

Guy was born on January 16, 1944, in Denison, Texas, the son of Leo Ransom and Ruth Perkins Ransom. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where he played football and was a member of the FFA. Guy married Rose Marie Brown on August 2, 1965. They were married 56 years prior to his passing. As a young boy, Guy enjoyed playing with his father's hammer and nails. The skills he learned then allowed him to build his beloved wife a gazebo. Guy worked for Oscar Mayer for over 23 years. He was a member and deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He served as superintendent of Sunday School and was a part of the Men's Chorus Choir and Sanctuary Choir. Guy and Rose assisted with Vacation Bible School, something they greatly enjoyed together. His grandchildren would always ask, "Is there anyone you don't know?" because Guy was a people person and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed. Guy is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leo Ransom and Douglas Ransom.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Ransom of Bonham, Texas; sons, Leo Ransom of Sherman, Texas and Corey Ransom of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Catricia March and husband Jacques of Bonham, Texas; brother, Dennis Ransom and wife Myrtle of Denison, Texas; sisters, Effie Smith of Denison, Texas, Shirley Wyatt of McKinney, Texas, and Edna Wilson and husband Calvin of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Corwin Ransom, Carmesha Sanders and husband Jacoby, Jaesun Ransom, Corlan Ransom, Catrena Ransom, Grayson King March, Ronniecia Williams, Jacques March Jr., Joshua March, Shaterica Alvarado, and LaVontis Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Randy Patton, Patrick Galbreath, Jake Mathenia, Raul Rocha, Tyson Henson, Tyler LaVergne, Skyler Hodges, Rodney Wilson, Brandon Henson, and J. T. Givens.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas.
