Glenda June Eubanks Meador, 86, passed away July 1, 2023 trusting in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection believing that in Christ we will have eternal life.
She passed away while at The Wesley House Assisted Living Center in Bonham, TX following an illness. Glenda was born September 1, 1936, in Ivanhoe Texas to Ellis Weldon and Ruth (Warren) Eubanks. She graduated from Dequeen (AR) High School in 1954. She attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia (AR) in the late 50's and earned a Bachelor of Education degree from East Texas State University in 1987. From 1966 to 1987 she served at Bonham High School as Library Aide. After earning her teaching degree in 1987, Glenda taught at L.H. Rather Junior High and Bonham High School from 1987-1991. Then Glenda returned to BHS as the High School Librarian until her retirement in 2011. Glenda married Dale Meador on March 24, 1957 and was married for 27 years until Dale's passing in August 1984. Glenda is preceded in death by her husband Dale, and her parents, Weldon in 1987 and Ruth in 2001. She is survived by her children Kerry (Susan) Meador of Aberfoyle TX; Scott (Suzanne) Meador of Spring Branch TX; and Brynne (Derek) Riley of Blue Ridge TX. Additionally, she had two granddaughters: Ashley Meador Klaja (Brian) of The Woodlands TX, and Katie Meador Greenwood (Evan) of Justin TX; Three grandsons, Samuel Meador, Andrew Meador and Carson Riley; and three great grandchildren: Hannah and Scott Klaja, and Eli Greenwood.
Glenda adored her five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and was an avid reader, crossword puzzler and shopper (especially shoes… she loved shoes). Since the age of six Glenda had a talent as a piano player, and spent decades serving the Lord playing the piano at 7th & Main Baptist Church, Boyd Baptist Church, and Trinity Baptist Church, as well as playing at numerous weddings in the community along with several Bonham High School Senior plays over the years. She loved watching college football, cheering on her Arkansas Razorbacks.
The family will receive visitors at Wise Funeral Home Friday, July 14th, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm and the following day a celebration of life service at Wise Funeral Home Chapel at 11am. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Ivanhoe.
