Graveside services for Gayle Crossland, 67, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 in Moores Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Dr. Gene Owen will officiate. Gayle passed away Tuesday night, Nov. 29, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Gayle was born June 17, 1949 in Garland, Texas, the daughter of Pierce Nairn and Harriett Hill Nairn. She was a graduate of Garland High School and received her Masters in Education from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. Gayle married Stavis D. Crossland on July 17, 1976. She taught in Windom ISD and 7th & 8th grades in Bonham ISD for 40 years. Gayle enjoyed camping and fishing and loved to sit by a good outdoor fire. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Gayle is survived by herHusband, Stavis D. Crossland of Bonham, Texas; Daughter, Jacey Matlock and husband, Jeff of Sherman, Texas; and Grandchildren, Brayden Matlock and Jaydee Matlock
Pallbearers will be Brandon Rogers, Mark Stallings, Chuck Crossland, John Gruben, Wayne Crossland, and Shane Dennis.
Memorials may be made to Moores Chapel Cemetery Assn., c/o Donna Miller, 5760 S. FM 271, Bonham, TX 75418.
