Franklon Roosevelt Brown passed away on July 30, 2024 in Bonham, Texas at the age of 91. He was born in Caddo Mills, TX to John and Della Brown on January 30, 1933. Franklon was a loving family man, husband, father, and friend.
Franklon married Dorothy May Eastridge April 15,1952. He enjoyed attending boy scouts with all three of his sons and joined the order of the arrow to become a scout leader in order to make lasting memories with his children. Franklon served his country proudly his by joining the United States Airforce and was stationed in England during the Korean War. After his 4 years of service, Franklon moved to Arizona and worked civil service at Luke Air Force Base as a maintenance electrician on the F-14. Franklon quit school when he was in the third grade after the passing of his father to help support his mother. When he wanted to join the IBEW he had to go back to school to get his GED in order to join the union. Franklon took and passed the journeyman's electricians exam. He continued with his education and become an lineman and worked for the department of water and power for LA county were he worked hard to become a construction superintendent. Franklon retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers after 25 years.
He is survived by his son, Frank Dwayne Brown, daughter, Tammy Denice Brown, grandchildren, Melissa J. Brown, Warren W. Brown, Tiffany R. Brown, Kevin M. Brown Chad F. Brown, David R. Brown, Robert Thornburgh, Misty Brown. great grand children, James D. Rice, Leeana Y. Rice, Brandon W. Brown, Brook A. Brown, Cody Brown, Jayvin Brown, Luca H. Brown, Madison F. Brown great great grandchildren, Hayden S. Brown, Lilly Brown, Julie Rice, and Ryan Rice.
A celebration of life is scheduled on August 12, 2024 at Clyde W. Cosper State Veterans Home on August 12, 2024 at 2pm.
