Floyd Forest Phillips, left this earth on February 4, 2011, at home in Roxton, TX. He was born May 21, 1920 in Glasscock County, TX to John J. Phillips and Laura Ballard Phillips. He was a rancher in Glasscock County and was married to Eva Lou Low in 1940. In 1942 he started his service in the Army serving in World War II for three years in the Pacific. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Texas where he started a family with his wife having two children Janet Elaine Phillips and Leslie Ray Phillips. He and his family moved throughout Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana where he enjoyed ranching, rodeos, and training race horses. He spent the last five years of his life in Gober, TX where he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gober. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, four brothers, great-grandson Colton Warford, and his son in law Bill Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years Eva Lou Phillips, his two children Janet Elaine Reed, Leslie Ray Phillips and his wife Gigi. His nephews John Jay Phillips and his wife Faye, Don Charles Phillips and his wife Judy. His grandchildren Bettina Logue and husband Loy; Dusty Brt and wife Donna; Tamera White and her husband Kevin ; Debra Talley and her husband James ; John Phillips and his wife Michelle . He is also survived by five great granddaughters, two great grandsons, two great- great granddaughters and two great-great grandsons.
